Heat shrink wrap has been widely used since 1965 in virtually every industry with great progress made in the improvement of heat shrink wrap resins and heat shrink wrap applicators. Heat shrink wrap is a low density polyethylene (LDPE) film made from a fractional low melt resin and other additives, and when subjected to heat, begins a biaxially shrinking process as the heat is removed. There are varieties of shrink films available in widths, lengths, thickness and colors, for diverse applications. All heat shrink wrap films are not alike. Depending on the specific manufacturers' specifications, each will perform differently depending on the resins and manufacturing process utilized. A satisfactory heat shrink wrap cover is dependent upon a quality shrink materials and a proven procedure/process for installation.
